ยปFlorida Utility Consortium
WeatherFlow contracts with various utilities in the southeast U.S. are major drivers in the development of the WeatherFlow Hurricane Mesonet. Due to past problems with hurricane-based outages and a perceived increase in future risk, the Florida Public Service Commission has required Florida utilities to take positive steps toward decreasing future problems. The PSC has directed each investor-owned electric utility in Florida to establish a plan that increases collaborative research to further the development of storm-resilient electric utility infrastructure and technologies that reduce storm restoration costs and outages to customers.
For a fraction of the investment required for a dedicated project, Florida utilities will be able satisfy their requirements while WeatherFlow enables them to have access to a greatly improved body of knowledge to rely on in determining the most efficient and cost-effective means to strengthen their respective Utility infrastructures.
The vast amount of secure locations made available by Utilities will also greatly enhance the value of the hurricane mesonet for all WeatherFlow clients.
