Part Time Forecaster

We are seeking a part time weather forecaster to cover several shifts during the week to be able to fill in when other forecasters are elsewhere committed.

Requirements

Even though training will be provided to familiarize you with WeatherFlow tools, procedures, and learned weather patterns, we would like to have someone with at least some formal weather training and background.    Experience in wind related activities and sports a major plus.    We want someone that knows that the wind on the water is often different than what the computers show… and has a passion to learn the patterns and communicate to our clients.    Local knowledge of beaches that we cover and weather patterns is also a plus.

Hours, shifts

At this time the need is for someone to cover US west coast shifts which tends to work most favorably for people in the Pacific time zone.     However, if you can fit the schedule in, any time zone could work out.    A typical daily shift for California region is (local time) 5am-7am, 10am-11am, 4pm-6pm, plus we want you to be able to monitor the wind through the day and adjust your forecasts should conditions deviate from predicted.

Likely we will need you for just one day per week on a regular basis but mainly you would be a fill in for when other forecasters are absent (vacations, sick, jury duty, etc.)
